5 Ultimate Tips for Choosing Quality Over Quantity

By  |

I know I’m always banging on about choosing quality over quantity but trust me it’s the way forward. Since creating my first capsule wardrobe I’ve learnt first-hand the importance of quality clothes. The few pieces I had in my first capsule from fast fashion brands are long gone. Whereas the quality pieces I’ve spent a little more on are still going strong. To me, it’s always worth choosing quality when it comes to clothes. Although this blog post focuses on reasons to choose quality clothing this applies to every area of your life not just your wardrobe. But that’s perhaps best left for another day. Today let’s focus on 5 reasons why choosing quality over quantity is always a good idea.

Less Shopping

Pretty obvious really but if you buy better quality your things should last longer. And if your stuff lasts longer then you won’t have to replace it as often. Which means less shopping. Perfect for those of you who hate shopping. Even if you enjoy shopping you don’t want to be looking for the same things over and over again.

You Care More

Buying better quality does take a little more effort than just buying the first thing you see. This extra effort means your purchase requires more care and attention. This extra investment in your purchases often leads to you taking better care of your purchase once you finally make it. As well as this better quality often costs that little bit more and I don’t know about you but when I spend a lot on something I want to take care of it.

It’s More Sustainable

If you ask me choosing quality over quantity is one of the easiest ways to live more sustainably. But buying less and making sure what you buy will last you are choosing to be more sustainable. Even when you decide you no longer want something, high-quality items can be re-sold or donated to charity.

You’ll Save Space

I don’t know about your house but mine is definitely lacking in cupboard space. By choosing to buy less but better you are automatically going to save space in your home. No more cupboards filled with useless junk but clear spaces with essential and useful items.

It’s An Act of Self-Love

Buying quality items for yourself is an act of self-love. You are worth spending a little extra on and you deserve to have nice things. You shouldn’t feel guilty for buying the best quality as long as you can afford (credit card debt isn’t an act of self-love).
